The first time I heard about "the bazar compatible program", I found it interesting and couldn't help wondering what the box means and what it's compatible with. I haven't got chance to enjoy the show until last year and the first meeting fascinated me a lot. The open space, concealed in the city center of Shanghai, with a size of less than 10 square meters, boasts an inconsistent harmony with the surrounding shops, vegetable stands and the hustle and bustle crowds. The very existence of itself poses a challenge to the various changeless forms in the art world.

Meanwhile, it also inspires me for this show, that in the age when art museums get enlarged and galleries are everywhere, I question what is the "weight of art" ? How can one be called big-name artist? What is the criteria of art value? Is the dealing price equal to the value of the works of art? Are we losing or ignoring something when we are eager to devote ourselves to the contemporary renaissance?
